I agree with his (the BYU professor) points on ID. It is impossible to lump science and religious faith into one category. What we learn from the sciences is invaluable and is important for schools to teach.
As for religious beliefs, I hope to be the main source of influence for my children. Hopefully, I will be an active enough parent to discuss what is being taught in schools with my children and encourage them to find for themselves what they choose to believe.
Both science and faith have roles to play in our society. There is no need to choose one over the other.
