State's Rights My Eye!

By Carlene Walker
Utah State Senator, District 8

I worked for two years with dozens of stakeholders to negotiate a fair but delicate balance with the business community and consumers.

Now the feds are threatening to nullify Utah's Credit Freeze Law before it even takes effect. I’m frustrated that they would take away Utahns ability to protect themselves against identity theft and credit fraud.

I guess Washington D.C. knows best. . . NOT!

The federal government does not believe in the 10th amendment to the constitution.

Also, these are the same folks who think they can run our education system better than we can.

And who created a broken immigration system that we face the consequences

I just love it when the Repug-controlled Congress and Bush team up to give Utah the perverbial shaft. We elected the freak-show in Washington, and we deserve everything we get in return - including 2,500 dead American soldiers who died needlessly in support of an illegal and unjust war brought to us by the "Decider."
