Loch Ness

E-mail from Lyle Hillyard: During our recent trip to Scotland, we went to the famous Loch Ness to see the Loch Ness Monster. I tried everything but could not get him (or her) to come up where we could see her (or him) so I asked Holly to take a picture so I could prove that there is no such thing as a Loch Ness Monster. I hope that this picture now puts your mind to rest.

I'm glad you fat cats can traipse around the world on the tax payer's dime while I struggle to keep food on the table and the heating bill paid.

I was going to make a crack about this being the typical level of awareness exhibited by our state legislators, but instead I think I'll just say Funny Picture.

P.S. Truthiness, I am the first to jump on our legislators for taxpayer-funded boondoggles (China, anyone?), but I'm under the impression that this was a personal vacation, no taxpayer money involved. I don't think we can begrudge legislators (or anyone else) a right to vacation if they can afford it.

Ness is kind of like school vouchers Lyle. Now you see them and now you don't. I had a lot of respect for Sen. Hilliard until he hitched himself to the voucher wagon. Till then I had always considered him a friend of public education.

My goodness people, the senator takes a vacation and all you can do is snip. Sen. Hillyard is a good man doing his best to serve the people of the state. Policy differences are fine, but when you get snarky like this you're liable to drive good people from public service. Then you'll complain there are no good candidates.

I thought that was Bear Lake until I read the caption!

Thanks for sharing, Sen. Hillyard, it is funny!

Wow. Dude saves money and visits his ancestral homeland and that's cause for criticism?

You need to reexamine your heart. I recommend a strict regimen of exercise, prayer, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, electroshock therapy, and a group hug from your anger-management classmates. Oh yeah, and Dr. Phil. It worked for me.

P.S. The shock therapy wouldn't help you, but I'd feel better.
