Which comfort animal would you prefer? Take the survey and let us know!

No animals were harmed in the taking of these pictures.

Senators Howard Stephenson and Senator Scott McCoy's dogs are both named Cooper. Go figure.

What about their self esteem? Was THAT harmed? Cooper the Republican looks good and cheesed off.

I have to agree with Millie.

I see no reason to put any type of clothing on an animal unless that clothing is used for protection, like a coat or special booties to protect their feet. Those items, by the way, are usually for veterinary purposes.

The animals may not have been physically harmed, but those dogs were not comfortable, especially cooper the repulican with that thing attached to his muzzle that blocked his nostrils. That was just plain mean.

It isn't animal torture, but it certainly wasn't done with any regard to the animals comfort.

Other than that, the democrat dog is the support animal of choice. His owner is someone I have 2nd thoughts about.

Shame on you Tom....that is not funny.

Now maybe if we had a picture of the dogs taking a lunge for their owners' family jewels, then it would be hilarious.

I want to see a dog dressed as the official mascot of the Constitution party:

The Angry White Male

Incidently that's also the mascot for the Personal Choice party.

Isn't there some issue about discrimination against the angry white male?

Oh wait......sorry, wrong victim. It's the white christian male that is now the object of discrimination.

Please don't dress up the dogs as any kind of white male, angry or otherwise.......Poor helpless dogs.

Sorry to be so confusing. My original comment was a joke. Guess it wasn't very funny.

My sister used to dress up her cat, which I think is adorable and hilarious at the same time.

I'm not kidding, but it isn't because of the animals self esteem.

Anyone who tries to get the animal to sit still long enough to get those silly objects on them knows that the animal doesn't like it. The animals spend all their time trying to get rid of the objects, which should tell you that they aren't in any way comfortable.

Yes... I have a problem with people who put costumes, bows, bonnets, hats, tutu's and other silly ass crap on animals. It is one of my "pet" peeves.

This reminds me of the infamous pancake bunny.

I will concede the point that if the dogs had pancakes on their heads, Coopers 1 and 2 would hardly be upset or feel any discomfort. The dogs would of course be trying to reach the pancakes and eat them.

Why anyone would balance a pancake on a rabbits head is beyond me, but the pancakes don't weigh enough to cause the rabbit any discomfort.
