Balanced Budget

The Senate just passed the new budget. It wasn't painless.

But it's a balanced budget.

And it . . .
* Kept the Rainy Day Fund intact for what could be stormy weather ahead,
* Did not increase taxes, and
* Does not require us to borrow money to make ends meet.
Now it goes to the House of Representatives. Here is the archived audio and video of today's Chamber discussions.

[Update:] After a round of amendments, the House passed it too. We're done.

Kudos to legislative leadership for balancing the budget without increasing taxes, bonding, or touching rainy-day funds. I listened in for most of the floor discussion, and everyone in the legislature should be complimented on the job that they did in the time they had to do it.
