Well by all means then, lets stick future generations with this:

Many working Americans may be experiencing something akin to sticker shock. The average cost of a family policy now exceeds $13,000 a year, having doubled over the last decade, according a new survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

While premiums rose a relatively modest level — 5 percent — last year, they are still going up much faster than overall inflation and workers’ wages, said Drew Altman, the chief executive of the foundation. “It’s one of the reasons why people feel the pain,” he said.

Kaiser, a nonprofit research group, conducts the benefits survey annually with the Health Research & Educational Trust, a research organization affiliated with the American Hospital Association.

By Mr. Altman’s calculation, similar increases over the next decade would translate to the average policy for a family costing in the neighborhood of $24,000 a year.

No Jason, you don't get it, see if we ignore health care costs then we don't have to pay them, they magically go away. People just stay healthy, they never get sick and we live in the land of bunnies and candy canes. LALALALAL!!!!

Managed care enabled in law by President Nixon, and then later Consumer Driven Health Plans Enabled in law by President Bush have failed to contain costs. They have driven millions out of health care, denied care to even more, bankrupted millions of American family's, Their is an average of 4 billing clerks per doctor, 1 clerk per hospital bed, the number of bureaucrats in the health care industry has grown at a rate 30times faster then doctors.

Remember in 78% of medical bankruptcy's that the person had insurance at the onset of their disease.

Our system is so broken its a real shock at the number of people who want to ignore its problems.

RD - I don't think people want to "ignore its problems". I think many people, who work hard for the insurance they already have, would rather not pay higher costs for those who don't work for anything.

You all offer a false choice. It's either the enormous budget destroying bills coming for Congress, or it's ignoring the problem. Politically it's a nice way to frame the discussion, but it's not honest. Which frankly has been a recurring theme.
