Why take healthcare legislation to court?

Attorney General Mark Shurtleff explains why he and several of our sister-states are filing a lawsuit against federal healthcare legislation.

I am glad Utah is joining in taking this healthcare reform bill to court. I keep seeing on TV all these comments that people wanted this bill. What people? Nobody I know was asked. It seems kind of communistic to me to require every person to have insurance and then fine them if they don't. I have insurance through my employer but how does this help lower income people?
Good job to all those Utah Reps that voted NO.

Thanks Utah AG for wasting my tax dollars on a lawsuit destined to fail. What an Ego.

If Shurtleff is so hell bent on this futile political statement, let him spend his own money and not the tax dollars that could be used to help Utah's citizens.

If this principle is so important to him he should pay the cost out of his own pocket and put his money where his mouth is, not ours.

As Speaker Pelosi said, "some people will do all they can to support Medical Insurance companies" and to deny folks medical care.

I thought Utah was in a budget crisis where we're seriously cutting necessary social service budgets and he wants to spend money on this? This is a losing battle, Mr. AG. Please reconsider!!
