District 24 :: Tooele, Nephi, Manti, Richfield, and Hanksville - and all points in between
I can remember the exact moment I became interested in politics. I was listening to a radio show. A lady had called in and was demanding that the government pay her a sum because she had fallen on hard times. Although I sympathized with this caller, I didn’t agree with her. I kept thinking that the responsibility needs to be with the individual, not the government.
With that in mind, my political philosophy has always been to never ask anyone to do something that I would not do myself. I advocate private property rights, personal responsibility, and keeping the government in check by maintaining constitutionality.
When I am not farming and ranching, I love to spend time with my kids. Their hobbies have become my hobbies. I love to watch Spongebob Squarepants and Jimmy Neutron with my youngest girl, and ride motorcycles and 4-wheelers with my son. In college, I rocked out on the guitar, even played a little classical guitar. I also love building things, even building something out of nothing.
Politics has helped me understand how deeply I love my wife, JoEllen. She embodies everything I stand for and I appreciate the support and the motivation she has given me throughout the years. She is truly the love of my life.
