District 26 :: Daggett, Duchesne, Summit, Uintah, and Wasatch Counties.
My involvement in the political scene came about for a simple reason. I figured it was time to make a difference on issues I felt keen about. The timing was right and there was an opening so my family encouraged me to run. I was elected as a state senator in 2006, my first major office.
One of my main goals here in the Senate is to develop sensible, long-term energy policies adopting all forms of energy and inviting the free enterprise system to work. My dream would be to lessen dependency of foreign oil, as well as to develop resources on school trust lands for children in the State of Utah.
Outside of the Legislature, I love Dutch Oven cooking, fishing, and target shooting. My number one priority, however, is spending time with my family (including 19-plus grandchildren!).
I feel that great things are accomplished one on one, a little bit at a time. If you need to reachme, please give me a call: (435) 789-0724.
