Day 32 and FRIDAY. But don’t worry, be happy… we still have almost 2 more weeks of all. this. fun.
Today on the Hill: Committee meetings, floor time, and honestly? Busier than ever. During morning floor time, we welcomed Lt. Colonel Michael Liechty to give our opening prayer, and Cadet 2nd Lieutenant Noa Autry led us in the pledge. We are so glad they came to visit! Today was Cat in the Hat Day. Senators Okerlund and Davis read us Green Eggs and Ham on the floor and encouraged Utah parents to take time out to read to their children. Senator Christensen welcomed Families of Fallen Heroes. It was a humbling experience – we are so grateful they chose to spend some of their morning with us.
In our Media Briefing, we discussed Healthy Utah again (shocker right?). You can watch the discussion below. Please join us every day after floor time. Text, call, chat, tweet… whatever suits your fancy.
During afternoon floor time, we welcomed the family members of many of our interns and senators, including Senator Hillyard’s family who came to celebrate Matt Hillyard’s 40th birthday! Happy birthday Matt! We had a bit of debate over 2SB116, SB169, SB69 and SB134 . SB157 (Senator Bramble’s ‘mystery bill’) came up in discussion today. It moved from the second reading calendar to the third.
